Take-Two Sued By LA Attorneys

Here we go again. The LA city attorneys office is suing Rockstar and Take-Two for "concealling" the content involved in the Hot Coffee mod. The case they're putting forth is that Rockstar deliberately mislead people by hiding the sex minigame and didn't fully disclose the content of the game. One attorney is quoted as saying, "Businesses have an obligation to truthfully disclose the content of their products - whether in the food we eat or the entertainment we consume."

The difference being, of course, that you eat something hidden in your food whether you realized it or not. Hot Coffee, though easily made accessible by mods, still had to be deliberately unlocked by the user via third party tools. Whether or not this will actually work as a defense in court remains to be seen, but this is just one more blow to a company that has had a very rocky time recently, with the Hot Coffee mod being placed on several lists of the biggest business blunders of the year, invoking investigations into the company, and incurring costs to replace stock of San Andreas with Hot Coffee-less versions, in addition to other internal management issues.

Update: Oh great, now they've got James Woods in on it too.
