New Releases for 03-20-06
Here are the highlights of what's coming out today or tomorrow:
- The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PC, 360) - OH MY GOD IT'S FINALLY HERE. That is to say, this open-ended RPG is the long-awaited sequel to Morrowind. $44.99 at Amazon for the PC, $59.99 for the Xbox 360. Collectors editions are also available which include a "Pocket Guide to the Empire", a making-of documentary, and a gold coin. Not real gold.
- Metroid Prime: Hunters (DS) - A 3D Metroid with a full single-player game as well as a full-fledged multiplayer component, playable online over Nintendo WiFi. $34.99 at Amazon.
- Tetris DS (DS) - Tetris returns yet again, this time with several gameplay modes (some using the DS touchpad), and each featuring a different retro Nintendo theme. $29.99 at Amazon.
- The Godfather (PC, PS2, Xbox) - Now you can experience for yourself what pissed Francis Ford Coppola off so much. This GTA-style mob game features the voices of many of the movie's original cast, including Marlon Brando. Amazon prices: $39.99 for the PS2 and Xbox, $34.99 for PC. Collectors editions available with documentaries and video walkthroughs.
- River King: A Wonderful Journey (PS2) - A "Socially Oriented Fishing RPG" from the makers of Harvest Moon. Okay. $19.99 at Amazon.
- Splinter Cell Essentials (PSP) - Could be the name of Sam Fisher's bath 'n' body line, but is also the series' first outing on the PSP. $39.99 at Amazon.
- Suikoden V (PS2) - Konami tries to soothe fan gripes about the series' decline with this return to the stylings of the second game. Or at least that's what they say. $39.99 at Amazon.
- Me and My Katamari (PSP) - The series' first handheld title and quite possibly the last Katamari game on any system. Sadly seems to be hindered by recycled music, load times, and a small number of levels. $39.99 at Amazon.
Man, a lot of stuff is coming out this week. Spread this crap out, guys. More at Gamespot and Next Generation.
