The Virtual Console Will Not Have Rare
IGN's Matt Cassamassina has posted in his blog some rather distressing news. While speaking with Rare and Microsoft people at GDC, they confirmed that no Rare licensed games will appear on the Revolution's Virtual Console service. That means no Conker, no Banjo-Kazooie, no Killer Instinct, no Jet Force Gemini, no Perfect Dark, and perhaps worst of all, no Goldeneye, "unless both Rare and new license holder EA commit it to Nintendo's platform."
The only bright spot is that any games featuring Nintendo licensed characters still belong to Nintendo, so the service will have Donkey Kong Country, Diddy Kong Racing, etc. So we don't get Blast Corps, but we can still play Donkey Kong 64. Whee.
