New Konami Revolution Game Revealed

It also happens to be the first Konami Revolution game. Called Elebits, the game takes its name from the little creatures, somewhat like Pikmin, that inhabit it. The Elebits apparently serve as the energy source for the planet, and so you go hunting them down for some reason. Details as to the how and why are kind of sketchy at this point, as it was only a small preview in Famitsu. But -- repeat it with me, now -- we'll know more at E3.

The Elebits game design stems from three concepts, Mukaitouge revealed: letting the player feel like they're actually touching the inside of the screen; finding stuff by moving things; and Konami's creation of a new character, the Elebits themselves.

The first two areas are of particular interest due to their dependence on the Revolution's controller. Konami wanted to be sure and create something that could not be replicated on an existing controller. While not going into specifics on how exactly players will use the controller, Mukaitouge suggested the image of real time movements of on-screen objects based on movements of the controller.

It seems like the primary focus is on digging around and finding these little creatures, which could be enjoyable in a relaxed, Pikmin-esque kind of way. Some stages can be finished in as little as 10 minutes, but hardcore gamers will be able to find lots of secret content. Sounds very Pikmin-esque, actually, which means I'll be looking for it come E3 time.
