Yuji Naka Officially Leaves Sega

Yuji Naka, creator of the Sonic series, has officially left the company he's worked at for 20 years to start his own development studio called Prope. The move seems amicable, however, as Sega itself is fronting 10% of the company's startup capital as a part of its program to support "independent game creators." Additonally, Sega is allowing Naka to take 10 members of his Sonic Team with him.

It's not yet known how this will affect the upcoming Sonic game for the PS3 and Xbox 360, which Naka had been overseeing.
