The Saturday Scan - The ABCs of MMCs
I was planning on making this week's entry the winner of the short story contest held after the Captain Nintendo story in last week's Scan, only to realize that I had already scanned it. It's the Friends story towards the bottom. Oops.
So instead, here's an unusually in-depth (for Nintendo Power) article on how NES cartridges work, from the January 1991, volume 20 issue of NP. The text was a little too close to the spine, but it's still readable.
Comments
I wish I could say I remember this article but alas I do not.
Not bad for a NP article of the time though.

This is the kind of information that knowitall kid who couldn't actually afford the games, only the magazines, would say when his friends were discussing Nintendo.
Jim: "So I was playing Super Mario 3, right and then-"
Loser: "Did you know that Super Mario 3 uses MMC 3 chips? Amazing, huh?!"
Jim: "...stop saying words."
