- The investigation into the shooting of a suspected PS3 thief is continuing, with prosecutors looking to bring the case before a second grand jury.
- Next Generation has listed their top 25 people of the year, if photos of random executives excite you.
- Forbes.com has a lengthy special section devoted to games, from sports to board games to video games. Puting a Mario speed run video on Forbes may have just caused the universe to fracture a little bit.
- Ubisoft has opened a store where you can buy Rayman Raving Rabbids toys.
- EGM's rumor section claims that Namco is preparing three more Katamaris, one for each new console.
- Sega has a new preview video up for Virtua Fighter 5.

Nintendo news:
- A Japanese news site has analyzed the retail value of the various components of the Wii and comes to the conclusion that Nintendo is making $40 per system sold.
- Nintendo now has a Wii strap replacement form for anyone wishing to replace their thin remote strap with the new thicker one.
- Former PS2 and PSP series Mercury Meltdown is coming to the Wii.
- I'm sure your kid will be delighted to receive the Wal-Mart Wii gift card this Christmas. It's just like a regular gift card, except worth exactly the cost of a Wii system. Whenever they show up.
- From Famitsu, here are seven pages worth of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates scans.
- SNK's Card Fighters on the DS will be seeing an American release.

- European Playstation Network registration begins today, so get in quick to be sure you're the one who lands that coveted Sephiroth screen name.
- The guy whose name was in the whois information for alliwantforxmasisapsp.com has put up a webpage trying to tell people to leave him alone because it's not his fault.
- The song Heavenly Star from Lumines II is now available on iTunes.
Microsoft news:
- The next official backwards compatibility update is here, and yes, Psychonauts is on it.
- 2 million copies of Gears of War have been sold, making it the fastest selling next-gen game so far.
- Peter Molyneux calls today's game developers "lucky bastards" for having things like XNA and the Internet at their disposal to get their ideas out.
- Microsoft sold 35,343 360s in Japan last week following the release of Blue Dragon. That's an increase of almost 90% versus the previous week's sales of 4000 units.
- Yesterday's rumored Halo 3 video is real.. sort of. Bungie has basically said a video is coming and wouldn't confirm the date, but did go as far as to flatly deny the rumor that Brutes will be playable.

- Gears of War downloadable content will be free.
- The fake game seen in the movie Grandma's Boy is becoming a real game named Demonik.

Wouldn't that be an increase of 900%? An increase of 90% would give you 7600 units.

I'm confused as to how that site is posting this Demonik thing as news. Wasn't that game shown off many months ago?

I think the game's existence was announced a long time ago, which is why I originally didn't post this. But literally every game site I came across yesterday mentioned this item, suggesting that very few people actually knew about the game. So I went with it.
I didn't know about the game or the movie tie-in either, but then again, I never saw Grandma's Boy.
