Industry and multi-console news:
- Looking for a job? GamesIndustry.biz and Firing Squad are both looking for editors. Firing Squad's application is more like a contest, oddly, with cash and prizes for the winner.
- A Blizzard exec says "consoles are becoming sophisticated PCs," and ponders whether this means they'll be made obsolete. "Maybe in five years you won't need a console because you'll have one PC which delivers content all over your house." Yeah, I remember hearing about that too, back in 1991.
- 1up's Retronauts explain why not getting the Saturn version of Symphony of the Night through Live Arcade or the recently announced PSP port is no big loss.
- Capcom has opened Capcom-Unity.com, a community site for the company and its games.
- Rockstar has announced Manhunt 2 for the PSP, PS2 and Wii. ....Wii?
- New screenshots are up for Hellboy on the PS3, 360 and PSP.
- University of Rochester research shows that playing action games improves vision.
- Wired talks about how Germany's violent history affects their policies on video games.
- Armchair Empire has a Dreamcast trivia quiz marking the 6th anniversary of Sega's announcement that they were halting DC production.
- The man who found a copy of a Good Luck, Charlie Brown prototype at the flea market (which, to this day, remains the only known copy) has uploaded footage of the game to YouTube. There's a thread about the cart and where it was found here.
PC news:
- Gas Powered Games has released a demo of Supreme Commander.
- ExtremeTech tests 25 games with Vista to see how well they perform.
- A California man has been arrested by the FBI after running a hacked Lineage II server that attracted over 50,000 subscribers.
- Crytek believe Crysis will be playable by people with two or three year old rigs.
- There's a new trailer out for Pirates of the Burning Sea.
Nintendo news:
- Japanese research company Enterbrain claims that the Wii has outsold the PS3 3 to 1 in Japan.
- In a continuation of the new training game craze, a Japanese developer is making a therapy game for the DS.
- Or if that's not your bag, you can learn manners on the DS.
- Nintendo has issued a press release that details everything about Wii Play, including all the minigames and how it plays.
- Ubisoft has revealed new details on the Wii version of Driver: Parallel Lines.
Sony news:
- Square has announced the PSP remake of the original Final Fantasy will hit Japan on April 19. The remake of FFII will come towards the end of May.
- Sony has announced that cumulative Blu-ray sales have surpassed HD-DVD for the first time. According to an online survey of 100,000 PS3 owners, 80% planned to buy further Blu-ray movies.
- The Ontario Globe and Mail reports on a story that is far from unique: A PS3 speculator plays the market and loses. It's hard to feel bad for him when he thought he could buy a second PS3 from a scalper for $1,800 and still make a profit.
- Conspiracy Entertainment has acquired the rights to use the Girls Gone Wild brand in their upcoming Pocket Pool game on the PSP (wherein you play pool to unlock galleries of naked girls). Good thing too, because I shun any naked women that aren't official Girls Gone Wild naked women.
- 1up's Luke Smith has predicted that Sony will release a Killzone 2 demo to counter the Halo 3 beta. He doesn't cite any secret inside information for why he believes this, but I suppose it's not out of the question.
- Sony is sponsoring a production of La Boheme in London, and somehow convinced the operators of the London Coliseum to let them set up a PS3 in the foyer for patrons to try out. At least they're aiming at people who can actually afford a PS3.
- Konami has released some preview images of Medicom's MGS4 old Snake figure.
Microsoft news:
- Proving once again why nerds should not become public speakers, Bill Gates has said that Viva Pinata is for young girls.
- It seems Microsoft has quietly (no pun intended) changed the brand of DVD drives they use in 360s. These new ones are said to be quieter and a little faster.
- Virtua Tennis 3 on the 360 will have 1080p support.
- There's some confusion over whether female characters in Splinter Cell: Double Agent will be PS3 exclusive or not.
- Achieve360Points will be hosting a NBA Live 07 Xbox Live event to help people get the "Online with 1000 people" achievement.
- Epic's Mark Rein says Gears of War cost under $10 million to make.
- Two new trailers are up for Earth Defense Force 2017.
- Games Radar asks a London College of Fashion graduate to comment on the various outfits in Bullet Witch.
- Apparently getting a little frustrated with the 360's poor sales in the continental Asian market, Microsoft has launched a new site called, charmingly, What's Wrong WIth U. The site features icons and wallpapers and a short market survey.
- The US Army is using modified 360 controllers to operate Future Combat Systems technologies in tests.

So the DS gets FF I & II together in the same game, while the PSP has them as seperate? Harsh.
