Hooray for Error Macro entry #1000. Imagine if that meant something.
Industry and multi-console news:
- As a part of the debate on Capcom's forums about the horrible atrocity of Devil May Cry 4 going to more than one system, fans asked whether Dead Rising or Lost Planet would appear on the PS3. Capcom responded that the games were "not slated to appear on Wii or PS3 as far as current plans go." The rep went on to say "the reasons for this are quite convoluted and I'm bound by NDAs on these matters so I can't divulge why this is the situation."
- Approximately eighty years after the rumor first surfaced, Traveller's Tales has confirmed the Lego Batman game.
- Take Two won't present alternative courses of action at their upcoming shareholders meeting, meaning that the option of selling the company isn't going to come up just yet.
- Play.com briefly had a listing for a game called Prince of Persia: Ghost of the Past, suggesting the possible subtitle of the next game in the series.
- 300 producer Thomas Tull is raising $150 million to start a new developer-publisher called Brash Entertainment. The company will specialize in licensed games, because God knows we have far too much originality in games these days.
- Kotaku compares the DS and PSP versions of Puzzle Quest to see which is better. They do, however, neglect to mention the bug that the PSP version apparently has.
- The Darkness has a release date of June 25 for America and June 29 for Europe.
PC news:
- 20 million copies of Vista were sold in the month after its launch.
- Saturday's edition of the Times in the UK will contain a trial disc for World of Warcraft along with an eight page guide to the game.
- The recent STALKER 1.0001 patch breaks previous save games. Lucky it wasn't a 1.1 patch or your PC would burst into flames.
Nintendo news:
- The floodgates crack open a little wider -- Swedish magazine Game Reactor has NiGHTS 2 as its cover story. I have no idea if the picture on the cover is official art or not, but it's lovely. The magazine doesn't mention a console, but since the other source for this is the Official Nintendo Magazine, I'll put it here for now.
- During a Gamestop investors conference call, COO Dan DeMatteo stated he personally believed Nintendo "intentionally dried up supply because they made their numbers for the year. The new year starts April 1, and I think we're going to see supply flowing.”
- For the record, Nintendo continues to insist "we're making as many as we can oh its just so popular blah blah." That's a direct quote.

- The official Wii site has a lengthy discussion with the Internet Channel's designers about what went into its development, and what can be expected from the full version.
- Heroes of Mana has been confirmed for a late summer release in America.
- MTV's Stephen Totilo attempts to work around ornery friend codes by converting them into sentences.
Sony news:

- A new trailer has been released for Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core. It's 10% gameplay, 90% dudes standing around and talking in Japanese.
Microsoft news:
- While avoiding making specific promises, producer Phil Whilson has said that Crackdown downloadable content could include flying vehicles. They had initially ruled them out because they weren't sure if the engine could take it, but "as you can see in the finished game, the existing engine can handle immense draw distances and rapid streaming... so airborne antics is definitely not off the table going forward."
- Ars Technica argues why a $100 Xbox can be better than the AppleTV.
- Where better to hold your Bible study than in a Halo 2 lobby. You see, Satan is like the Flood...
- Photos have surfaced that supposedly show black Elite 360s on a rack at the factory.

I must be the only person on the internet that doesn't give a shit about another Nights game.

I certainly wouldn't mind another Nights game, but I'm not gonna lose any sleep if it never happens.
Also, analysts are already calling Microsoft's claims about Vista sales total bullshit.
