Oh wait, it's just Street Fighter Online: Mouse Generation, an upcoming (and official) PC game with a fighting system based on Street Fighter Alpha and controlled using only the mouse. The game will also feature mixing and matching of character body parts such that "it's possible to get Chun Li's head and torso attached to Zangief's arms and Ryu's legs."

Industry and multi-console news
- Along with the new game coming out, Japan will also be getting a 3D remake of the original Bionic Commando as a downloadable PSN/XBLA game.
- Valve has talked a little more about their plans to tweak the Team Fortress 2 classes. Pyros will now get points (or more likely fractions of a point) for igniting people, even if they don't make the kill.
- God of War II director Cory Barlog plans to do some work in Hollywood now that he's left Sony. He's also expressed interest in making a Wii game.
- FPS Brain is a.. *sigh* performance enhancing supplement for FPS players.
- GameTap and Turner Broadcasting are sponsoring this year's Dare to Be Digital, an annual UK-based competition for up-and-coming game creators.
- The Advertising Standards Authority has taken issue with a Stranglehold TV ad in the UK for "encouraging and condoning violence." They've declared "the ad must not be broadcast again in its current form."
- Elsewhere in the UK, the acquisition of Gamestation by Game (they're not big on clever titles over there) has been given the go-ahead by the Competition Commission.
- Gamasutra has a feature on how games engineer compulsion.
- John Romero has some things to say about Gamecock and it's founder Mike Wilson. "These are the kinds of jackass stunts he pulled at Ion Storm with Daikatana. Remember the bitch ad? Yeah."
- ESPN will be covering video games thanks to a multi-year agreement with Major League Gaming.
- Blueside has announced Kingdom Under Fire Dominion, a massively multiplayer online action real-time strategy purple monkey dishwasher. Is this the "traditional" sequel they refered to last month?
- A man in North Ayreshire (I think that's just north of Gondor) who sold counterfeit games to trawlermen for a box of crabs has been fined £3,000.
- GamePro talks to industry insiders about the practice of doctoring screenshots.
- PC Zone blows the lid off the plagiarism story of the year: The similarities between BioShock and RoboCop.
- A Saudi Arabian study finds that violent games have negative effects on kids. "The study… focused on a selected group of youngsters in a juvenile detention centre…" Hey, I think I found your problem.
- The first fight scene image from the Dragonball movie doesn't show anyone glowing or yelling.
- Yet another homebrew Genesis game will be released on cartridges later this year.
- Let it not be said that Error Macro isn't on top of all the latest celebrity gossip. Angelina Jolie recently bought Ghost Squad on the Wii for Brad Pitt's nephews for Christmas. This didn't sit well with Brad's sister Julie, who returned the game because "we don't promote violence in our home." For the record, Ghost Squad is rated T.
- Kotaku has a collage of photos of Japanese erotic game voice actresses. I don't know exactly what I would have expected, but it's a pretty normal group of folks. Some of them are even cute.

- And while we're on a roll, IndieGames.com lists the best freeware arcade games of 2007.
- The editor-in-chief of IGN PC, Dan Adams, is leaving IGN.
- Zero Punctuation's video review this week is for Crysis.
- Speaking of which, the Crysis dev team has put together a list of parts they say makes a $900 PC that can play Crysis on High settings.
- Amazon's deal of the day is Kane & Lynch for $29.99. They also have Guild Wars: Nightfall for $35.99.

- Bungie says that Master Chief will be a supporting cast member in the Halo movie because it's too hard to make a guy in a mask work emotionally as a lead character through an entire film. Or they could just take the helmet off and have Stallone inside.

Famitsu should retroactively take away Nintendogs' 40. How could that game have entertained anyone for more than 15 minutes?
