New Releases for the Week of June 15, 2008
- Deadliest Catch: Alaskan Storm (360) - Just remember that if you could talk to your childhood self, and he asked you what kinds of video games you have in the future, and you told him that you pretend to catch crabs like men on TV, he would repeatedly kick you in the balls. $59.79 at Amazon.
- Wacky Races: Crash & Dash (Wii, DS) - I was going to make some comment about Wacky Races being too old for the game's target audience. But then I remembered there was a Felix the Cat NES game, so what do I know. $39.99 on the Wii, $29.99 on the DS.
- Secret Agent Clank (PSP) - A Bond-themed action-adventure with Clank in the starring role. $39.99 at Amazon.
- The Political Machine 2008 (PC) - A strategy game about the 2008 US presidential elections, allowing you to guide the campaigns of characters ranging from the topical (Obama, McCain), to the historical (George Washington), to the obscene (Dick Cheney). $19.99.
- Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard (DS) - A dungeon crawling RPG. Yes, you still have to draw your own maps. $29.99 on Amazon.
- Arkanoid DS (DS) - A new version of the classic arcade block-breaking game, with 140 levels and several game modes. $19.99 at Amazon.
- Space Invaders Extreme (DS, PSP) - It's the same as regular Space Invaders, but you can only play it while chugging a Dew and snowboarding off a cliff. $19.99 on the DS or PSP.
Not a very strong week all around, though you're a little better off if you have a handheld or two. Rounding out the list is Code Lyoko: Fall of X.A.N.A. and more Petz, Imagine and Tamagochi games. Also releasing this week is Requiem: Bloodymare, a free-to-play PC horror MMORPG. The full list can be seen at Gamasutra.
