The Error Macro Video Gallery - Tuning

A while back people starting making hacked Mario World levels that could be completed without ever touching the controller, just by letting Mario get guided around by the environment. Naturally that's not good enough, so now we need an 11 minute level that doesn't have to be touched and plays along to music. There are a number of songs in there, unfortunately most of them are themes from one anime or another.

The Error Macro Video Gallery - Spottin' Bugs Bought This Van

What was it like being a tester for the Playstation in the mid-'90s? Apparently, it was a haze of overtime and bad hair. This video from one of the Playstation Underground CDs features conversations with some of SCEA's testers as well as Warhawk and Twisted Metal producer Mike Giam. Appearances by Jet Moto 2, Final Fantasy VII and Armored Core put this at somewhere around fall of 1997.

On the subject of Twisted Metal, Playstation Underground also has video of an interview with David Jaffe from 1996, talking about TM2 and looking very young.

The Error Macro Video Gallery - I Hurt People

Only about twenty years after Meet the Demoman was released, Valve celebrates the unbundled version of Team Fortress 2 now in stores with Meet the Scout. Be sure to notice the cap point color.

The Error Macro Video Gallery - Chills Again

The Street Fighter movie (the Van Damme one) is old hat by now, but I must admit I had never before seen (or even heard of) the music video that accompanied it. A song entitled Straight To My Feet performed by MC Hammer, featuring Deion Sanders, and with a video "starring" Jean Claude Van Damme along most of the cast of the film, including everyone's favorite, Captain Sawada. It's a perfect storm of mediocrity!

The Error Macro Video Gallery - Pageant of the Bizarre

You might recall Dead Fantasy from last year -- it was a lengthy, ludicrous fan video featuring some of the Dead or Alive girls fighting Yuna and Rikku in their FFX-2 gear, culminating in Tifa showing up to the fight with a "to be continued" message. Now they're back in part two, in which the creator proves the old adage of "more is not more enough" by piling on increasingly ridiculous situations until the file itself threatens to snap under the strain. Believe it or not, he has "at least 5 more episodes" of this in the works.

The Error Macro Video Gallery - Killing Time

My local Gamestop has canceled their midnight launch of Brawl due to the snow storm we had yesterday and this morning. The only thing that could console me would be a man playing a song from Ocarina of Time on a vegetable.

Whew!

The Error Macro Video Gallery - The Old Made New

Many of you are familiar with Chrono Resurrection, the aborted fan project to recreate Chrono Trigger in 3D. It was never actually meant to be a full remake, but rather an updated rendering of certain key scenes from the game. Naturally, it was shut down by Square Enix, but recently this video was released showing how far the project had gotten. Feel free to drool all over it and imagine the full Chrono Trigger remake that you will never ever see.

The Error Macro Video Gallery - Alternate Takes

The MUGEN fighting game engine was basically made for people to create match-ups they'd never see in real life (though admittedly, 15 years ago you'd have "Sonic and Mario" on that list). The trailer below is for Card Sagas Wars, a fan-made game that takes the concept and runs with it, creating what is described most simply as a 2D Smash Bros. With Cloud. And Chun-Li. And Ivy. And KOS-MOS and Mega Man and Master Chief.

More videos after the jump, unless you clicked on a link directly to this post, in which case there is no jump and this sentence is strange and frightening to you.

The Error Macro Video Gallery - Tommy Lee Jones Is Moe

I neglected doing a video gallery, and for that matter a Sunday newspost, so I could finish up Assassin's Creed over the weekend. But I would certainly never leave you completely in the dark, so here is a handful of videos to ease you into the week, starting with one that isn't actually gaming related. But how could I leave this out:

Tommy Lee Jones has been doing a series of commercials in Japan for Boss coffee in which he plays an alien learning about life on Earth. Naturally, his research would not be complete without being spoonfed by a Japanese maid.

The Error Macro Video Gallery - Half Life, Hot Fuzz and Hard Drives

Coast to Coast AM is a syndicated radio talk show dealing with the paranormal and conspiracy theories. Naturally, they've usually got a bunch of quacks and loonies calling in to talk about their close encounter stories. But this caller named Gordon seems pretty on the level.

Further adventures await inside! Could they be.. spooky adventures?

The Error Macro Video Gallery - Music Box

Music. Makes the people. Come together. Some wise philosopher once said that, but we may never know who. The point is that people love music. And people love video games. But what if you combined them??????

You might get this, a video for Right Said Fred's Wonderman. The video, and from what I can tell the song itself, were whipped up as part of a promotion for the release of Sonic 3 in Europe. Featuring all the lyrical complexity Right Said Fred was famous for.

The Error Macro Video Gallery. If you take a nap he'll spin attack.

The Error Macro Video Gallery - Clearinghouse

Normally I don't do one of these in the middle of the week, but I want to get some of these stragglers out of the way before they become irrelevant.

Not this though. This is timeless.

The Error Macro Video Gallery - Oh, Nippon-chan~

Japan. Land of natural beauty, ancient traditions, and unique culture. Truly, a country to be admired. Except that "unique" bit, that sometimes goes a little... off.

Like when they make an adult dating game about a dogman and a bunch of catgirls and open it with a horrible Engrish song.

The Error Macro Video Gallery. My tongue is rough but I want you to forgive me.
